The founder behind the firm.
FOURANS was founded in 2008 by Reena Ruby. Eighteen years later, she leads every aspect of the firm, from master services agreements with Fortune 50 clients to the placements that go to her most senior accounts.
On building FOURANS, eighteen years in.

I founded FOURANS in 2008 because I believed staffing could be done with more care than the industry was giving it. Too many firms were treating placements as transactions: fill the seat, close the contract, move on. I wanted to build something that thought longer term, about the consultant whose career we were shaping and the client who was trusting us with their team.
Over the years since, that’s what we’ve tried to do. We’ve placed 10,000+ professionals across more than 30 states, supported Fortune 50 and Fortune 200 clients through long engagements, and earned every certification we hold. These aren’t decoration on a capability statement. They’re a record of what we’ve built and who we’ve built it for.
What’s made the difference, every time, is people. The consultants who show up prepared. The recruiters on our team who take the time to actually understand a role before sourcing for it. The clients who let us into their hiring process because they trust us to represent it well. There’s no shortcut to any of that. It comes from doing the basics seriously and staying consistent over time.
The consultants who succeed with us tend to share a few traits: they show up prepared, they take ownership, and they stay curious. Those are the people we end up working with again and again across decades. We try to build the firm in their image.
We’re proud of what FOURANS has built so far, and we know there’s a lot more ahead.
Reena founded FOURANS in 2008 in Bridgewater, New Jersey, with a focus that has not shifted in the eighteen years since: connecting Fortune 50 and Fortune 200 enterprises with the consultants and contractors who can actually deliver the work. What began as a small New Jersey IT staffing firm now operates in more than 30 states, with engagements spanning financial services, telecommunications, healthcare, pharmaceutical, government, insurance, media, automotive, and retail.
Her conviction is that a staffing firm is only as strong as the relationships behind each placement, and she has structured FOURANS’ culture around that idea.
In 2017, Enterprising Women magazine named Reena one of its Enterprising Women of the Year. The award recognizes top women entrepreneurs across categories including fast growth, leadership in their communities, and active mentorship of other women in business. She received the honor at the 15th Annual Awards Gala at The Ritz-Carlton in Fort Lauderdale, alongside a global cohort of women business owners selected from thousands of nominations.
Reena is based at FOURANS’ Bridgewater, New Jersey headquarters and works directly with consultants and client leadership across the firm’s national footprint.
“We don’t just place people. We back them. And we back the clients we place them with.”
A responsibility to both sides of every placement.
A staffing firm has a responsibility to both sides of every placement. To the consultant whose income and growth depend on the right match. To the client whose project depends on the right hire. Neither one should ever be an afterthought to closing the contract.
That conviction shows up in how FOURANS operates. The firm holds itself to longer client tenure than the industry average, follows up with placed consultants well beyond the standard ninety-day window, and turns down engagements that don’t fit, even profitable ones, when the match isn’t right.
A first-generation entrepreneur and woman business owner, Reena is also passionate about what FOURANS’ MWBE certifications represent beyond the technical qualification. They are a record that small, minority and women-owned firms can compete at the highest levels of enterprise procurement when they do the work. She supports career-development programs for early-career consultants, mentors emerging staffing professionals, and treats every Fortune-level engagement as proof for the next certified firm trying to earn its first major client.
Looking ahead, Reena’s focus is on deepening FOURANS’ federal practice, expanding the firm’s healthcare and clinical-services bench, and continuing to build a team that reflects the people-first ethos the firm was founded on.
“Capability gets you in the room. Consistency keeps you there.”
